Da Nang - (Spring 2025) - Day 1
First full day in Da Nang. Had some great sunny days during our stay.
The hotel had an excellent buffet of eastern and western foods.
I pretty much ate pho for breakfast every day. They changed the soup style every day as well.
Views from the Hotel
Laundry
Have to do laundry at some point on a long trip.
Pretty cheap here - this is about 80 cents per kilo.
Beach Scenes
The beach area is very long and there is an excellent walking/biking path up and down the entire beach.
Lady Buddha statue in the distance
Did not make it out there on this trip
One of the many seafood restaurants you find in this beach town with tanks and tanks of live fish and other creatures
Đặc sản Đà Nẵng
Found this place while walking around town. They had a different type of noodle (quang style) that is found in the central part of Vietnam so of course we had to try the local dishes. It had a flavorful broth with thicker noodles and big hunks of meat.
Cho Han
Made a trip inland to explore the main market in town. This place had food stalls in the back and the touristy trinkets were in the front downstairs. Upstairs was the clothing, shoes, and bags.
On the way across the river you could see the famous dragon bridge (Cầu Rồng)
This is the great hotel we stayed at (for a ridiculously low price)
East West Brewing
This was a place across the street from the hotel. These places do cater to western sensibilities, but nothing wrong with beer and a great view.
Lounge Beach
Just a few steps down you can find this bar. Very much beach front with negronis at happy hour. The town very much caters to Koreans as can be seen by the flag flying at the front of the restaurant.
Scene looking down the street from the hotel
Again - they should put that plastic chair and table on the flag
Night Photos from Hotel
Sky 21 Bar
This is the hotel bar at the tippy top of the hotel. Great views (plus we had drink vouchers that we had to use).
Bun cha Quyen’s House
Went in search of some bun cha that we did not have to make ourselves like in the cooking school. Searched out this place in the neighborhoods walking inland from the hotel. The night was cool enough to make sitting outside pleasant for dinner - still had ice in the beer though.
Cheers
A little bit cheesy but it works. The cocktail bar we were searching for didn’t seem to be open this night but some local guy who saw us wandering said that we should just hit this place not too far away since this is where he goes for a drink. Not too raucous on this night but you could see how expats might flock here for some pool and some drinks.
Walking back to the hotel you could see some of the many food trucks dotting the beach area
