Reno (Spring 2025)

Some time travel here for a post I forgot to make in 2025. Had a make a quick trip to Reno so I spent spare time looking for chicken wings and cocktails. Mostly hung out in Midtown Reno which is a great local scene away from the dying casinos in downtown.

Noble Pie

Yes - it’s a pizza place but I was in search of some wings and they had this version call Pittsburgh style wings. They were quite the flavor bomb. Great way to start the visit.

Death & Taxes

After having the wings for lunch, this popular cocktail bar across the street was open for business. Good cocktails here and a pretty extensive whiskey selection available.

Emerson

Headed over to the Emerson in the evening. Someone had told me a long time ago that this was their favorite bar in Reno so I finally got to check it out. Nice laid back environment with locals hanging out. Their version of the Manhattan was excellent.

Royce

Went in search of some more chicken wings and hit this place. Most people were getting the burgers which also looked very good. The wings here were also great - crispy and flavorful and served with a mound of fries. The night started to spiral downward as some locals started buying me shots.

1864 Tavern

Followed the locals to this establishment and had their Manhattan to finish the night.
