Marrakesh - (Fall 2025) - Day 6

Café Koutoubia

This was my favorite cafe in Marrakesh. It is frequented more by locals than tourists so you don’t get price gouged here. The coffee is thick and flavorful and the location sits at a busy intersection of roads in front of the Koutoubia mosque.

Riding Quads in the Desert

A very affordable excursion from the city. A van picks you up and takes you a little bit into the desert where you can ride ATV’s.

This was the location per my phone

While in the waiting area, their resident cat sought out attention from everyone

Kabana Rooftop

After getting back in the city from riding the quads, we looked up this great rooftop setting for some food and drink. They were strict about not bringing in your own water bottle into the restaurant. You had to check it downstair if you had one and pick it up on the way out like luggage.

They had a really nice looking set up on the rooftop and I think it gets clubby at night.

At our next stop, we had been to Le Salama often enough that they recognized us when we had our afternoon beer. One of the managers, Walid, stopped by to give us other recommendations to go to in the medina.

Barouk 155

There is a Moroccan dish called pastilla that I wanted to try so we sought out a place that served it. Pastilla is a meat pie wrapped in a flaky sweet pastry. This little restaurant in the medina was very good. Unfortunately it is pretty small and the upstairs seating was taken so we had to sit on the sidewalk with the scooter exhaust whizzing by. They also made a point of how they brewed and served the mint tea in a traditional manner.
